If you have spark now, you need to replace the silver cube which is a ground diode designed to create a ground that the ON/OFF switch and Oil Sensor use to kill the spark. Disconnect the wire at this point and check for spark again. There is a black wire coming from the cube that also has a quick connector. If you still have no spark, follow the yellow wire you from the point you disconnected it over to small silver cube that it comes out of. Grasp the two ends firmly and separate the two wires at the connector.Follow this wire until you locate the green quick connect.Locate the yellow wire on the crankcase.The sensor may stick on engines that have not been run for long periods of time.Champion Power Equipment engines come equipped with a low oil sensor that prevents the engine from running when too little oil is in the crankcase.
Verify that the correct amount of oil is in the engine. If it does not, then perhaps we have a no spark issue. If the machine comes to life momentarily then dies, the carburetor may be obstructed. If you remove the air filter cover and the air filter element, set the carburetor to RUN and spray the starting fluid directly into the engine. If this not does remedy the issue, please proceed below:Ī very quick test that will tell us if we are dealing with a fuel flow issue or an ignition issue can be done using a little starting fluid.
